Sri Durgamayi Ma:

Sri Durgamayi Ma, tenderly called Mataji (mother) by her devotees, is a spiritual teacher, who lives and teaches here in Germany

„Widen your hearts,

your vision, your thoughts,
your entire life.
Make it bigger, make it wider.
Life becomes so much more lively
when you live it with a big heart
and a broad mind which doesn’t stop at
« this is mine and that is yours ».

When one’s vision widens
differences don’t appear to be even bigger
but, on the contrary, one increasingly
begins to see how alike we all are
and ultimately that we are all the same,
in the most positive sense of the word. »

As a young woman Sri Durgamayi Ma wanted to know what it would be like to live in this world and be in unity with God.

At the age of 25 she travelled across land to India to meet Sri Neem Karoli Baba in whom she found her spiritual master.

Following his death in 1973 she heard about Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati in America. After seven intensive years on the path of Bhakti Yoga her « ego » was burnt in the fire of love for her spiritual teacher; Sri Durgamayi Ma recognised the divine in her Ma, in herself and in all human beings.

Back in Germany, Mataji’s first students soon found their way to her. Today, ashrams have been opened in Ulm, Cologne and Berlin where Mataji regularly gives darshan. Everybody is welcome – irrespective of whether they are students of this Mataji or not.

With her infinite love and her unassailable belief in the Divine in every human being, Sri Durgamayi Ma guides those who find their way to her.

Mataji’s profound joy and her love of life can be applied in everyday life, in all spheres of life and by gaining a new view of things everything begins to make sense.

Anyone who wants to meet Mataji may attend her darshan or may participate in one of the retreats lasting for one or several days, no matter if he or she is a devotee or not.

One can ask Mataji anything. She says:

"My reply, whatever it may be, is always an expression of my love
for the person asking the question."

Mataji teaches lovingly and most refreshingly the path of Bhakti Yoga which is a way of connecting with the divine self. Spirituality may be practised in the midst of everyday life. It is not something reserved for the intellect.
